About

Hello!  I’m Tracy. I’m a writer from Toronto, Canada.

Scents have always evoked strong emotions in me, but I’d previously left the dissection of their merits up to the experts. Only recently have I tried to understand them, and my own responses to them. Why, for example, are some scents so specifically occasional?  Why are some so hard to forget?

The research has been trying: other perfume blogs seemed esoteric, providing descriptions that were both excessively sensual and sterile. I won’t pretend to know the details (which nose made what base note and where), but I am interested in what comes after – the affect of a scent, its vocabulary, and its aesthetics.

You can scroll past my small thoughts here, witness my Internet negligence here and talk about overpriced fragrant water here. Thanks for visiting!
